What We're Looking For:

Barge Design Solutions is seeking a Project Scientist to join our Environmental & Natural Resources team. This position will be based in our Atlanta, GA office and work closely with other staff executing work plans to collect and\nanalyze data for clients documenting observations and developing basic\nrecommendations supporting projects in a timely and quality oriented\nmanner. This role spends frequent time\nin various field settings performing work.

Responsibilities:

Assists in collection of data from various sources in the field, in addition\nto, compiling reports, maps, and other documents.
Assists with data verification documenting observations from sources\nidentified in scopes of work.
Assists with analyzing data, reports, maps, aerial photographs, and other\nrecords as needed.
Develops basic conclusions from observations of data and collected\nsamples.
Coordinates and executes portions of field work associated with approved\nStatement of Work.
Provides appropriate communication to manager as it relates to permitting\nstatus & other various deliverables.
Assists in writing portions of\ntechnical reports and provides basic recommendations based on conclusions\nreached from findings.
Organize and order field equipment/ testing supplies for various laboratory\nsamples.
Performs other duties as requested.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from accredited program.

Skills:

Knowledge of scientific principals and methods.
Familiarity with GIS and other essential equipment needed for field and\noffice work.
General knowledge of state and federal regulations.

Supervision:

Provides instructions to staff with field work to support\nproject deliverables.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Traffic Control Device and Permit Review
Review signal and traffic control device permits, including traffic signals, pedestrian hybrid beacons (PHBs), rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs), and school zone flashers.
Review access management permits (driveway and encroachment permits) for design, safety, and operational compliance.
Coordinate with permit applicants, local jurisdictions, and internal GDOT reviewers as necessary to clarify submittal requirements and resolve discrepancies.
Evaluate speed limit change requests through field review, data analysis, and regulatory compliance
Public and Interagency Coordination
Respond to public inquiries, complaints, and concerns related to traffic operations, safety, and signal timing.
Participate in field investigations and prepare documentation summarizing findings and recommended corrective actions.
Assist GDOT staff with miscellaneous traffic operations or maintenance-related tasks as assigned.
For senior staff: provide training and mentorship to less experienced GDOT and consultant personnel on permitting, field review procedures, and compliance documentation.
Traffic Engineering and Design Support
Assist engineers in the field portions of traffic engineering studies, including data collection and site evaluations.
Perform traffic data review and validation (e.g., turning movement counts, volume, and speed data).
Support the development of traffic analyses (Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, or equivalent), including documentation of operational findings.

General Responsibilities:

What We're Looking For:

Barge Design Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineering Associate to join our Facilities Engineering Solution Center. This role supports the design and development of electrical systems for a diverse portfolio of industrial, commercial, and healthcare projects, contributing to solutions that power critical infrastructure and enhance the built environment.

Responsibilities

Collaborate\n with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to\n provide a comprehensive project report or detailed design.
Prepare\n engineering and design documents using computer assisted engineering and\n design software to generate 2D and 3D models and plans.
Assists\n in the analysis or preparation or modification of reports, specifications,\n plans, permits, and designs for project
Perform\n lighting photometric designs.
Perform\n electrical calculations for voltage drop and cable sizing, electrical\n service sizing, panelboard, and electrical equipment designs.
Perform\n electrical studies including short circuit analysis, coordination, and arc\n flash studies.
Coordinate\n with other disciplines including civil, architectural, structural, and\n mechanical engineering to complete detailed designs.
Participate\n in project site visits with other project team members as needed.
Participate\n in Construction Administration of projects by reviewing submittals,\n assisting engineers in responding to requests for information from\n contractors.
Demonstrates\n strong attention to detail.
Able\n to learn and implement code requirements on projects including National\n Electrical Code, standard operations, policies, and procedures.
Performs\n other duties as requested

Education & Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor’s\n degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university
EIT\n Certification
At\n least 2+ years of experience in the industry is preferred
Experience\n using AutoCAD and/or Revit
Ability\n to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents
Knowledge\n of Microsoft Office Suite
Strong\n organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks\n simultaneously
Strong\n interpersonal/communication and teamworking skills

The selected candidate will be part of our growing team and will be responsible for electrical designs to achieve enhanced efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Responsibilities:

Collaborates with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to provide a comprehensive project design.
Leads technical electrical design portions of a projects in a multi-discipline environment.
Develops studies and narratives to help clients meet project requirements.
Selects equipment and designs code compliant electrical systems to achieve client objectives related to uptime and reliability of mission-critical facilities.
Conducts fault current analysis, short circuit analysis, and protective device coordination studies.
Participates in project site visits.
Mentors, directs, and oversees work of junior staff and designers.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
Professional Engineering license (PE)
4+ years of progressive experience in the electrical engineering field with emphasis on design of power distribution systems for data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IECC, IEC, etc.)
Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI and IEEE standards.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively with a wide range of audiences.
Experience with Revit a plus.
Familiarity with sustainable design practices and energy-efficient systems a plus

Responsibilities:

Serves as Structural Lead and Engineer of Record for projects across multiple market sectors
Performs and oversees structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation structures
Directs and mentors Junior Engineers and Structural Designers, providing technical guidance and quality control
Prepares and reviews calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports for accuracy and constructability
Coordinates with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery
Provides technical guidance on project scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments
Conducts site visits and construction observations to support design intent and resolve field issues
Completes assignments within budget and schedule while working with design teams involving multiple disciplines
Provides career development mentoring to early-career engineers
Assists in client contact and communication, and attends client meetings

Education & Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures from an ABET accredited university
Master’s degree strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of building codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI)
Proven track record of managing large-scale projects from concept to completion
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration
Structural Engineer (SE) strongly preferred
Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, 10+ years preferred
